If it will not let you in

Four causes, in roughly the order they turn out to be it. Only Optum can fix any of them.

1. 01

   The subscription lapsed

   EncoderPro is an annual subscription. When it ends, the account is deactivated rather than deleted, so the login page still recognises you and still refuses you. Optum support can reactivate it.

2. 02

   A trial ended

   Optum's 30-day trial takes no card and cancels itself, which is genuinely good practice — and it means access stops with no failed payment to warn you first.

3. 03

   The seat was reassigned

   Licences are per user. If you are on an organisational account, an administrator can move your seat to somebody else, and it looks identical to an expired password from where you are sitting.

4. 04

   The password expired

   Use the forgot-password link on Optum's sign-in page. Not on this one — we do not have one, and any site other than Optum's offering to reset an EncoderPro password should be closed immediately.

Where do I log in to Optum EncoderPro?

At encoderpro.com/epro — Optum's own sign-in page, titled 'Optum EncoderPro.com - Login'. Your credentials go to Optum and nowhere else. This page is not affiliated with Optum; we make a competing coding tool and we are telling you where their login is because that is what you searched for.

Why can I not sign in to EncoderPro?

The usual causes, in order of how often they turn out to be it: the subscription lapsed and the account is deactivated rather than deleted; a 30-day trial ended, which happens silently because Optum's trial takes no card and cancels itself; the seat was reassigned, since EncoderPro is licensed per user and an administrator can move it; or the password simply expired. Optum's support can tell you which, and only Optum can reactivate it.

What does it cost to renew EncoderPro?

Optum publishes three per-user annual tiers: Standard at $299.95, Professional at $549.95 and Expert at $999.95. The compliance content sits in Expert. Prices are per user per year, taken from Optum's own pricing page and verified August 4, 2026.

Is there a free EncoderPro download?

No. EncoderPro.com is a browser-based subscription and there is no downloadable free version — anything presenting itself as one is not Optum's. Optum does offer a genuine 30-day trial with no credit card, which is the legitimate way to use it without paying, and it is longer than our own seven days.

Is there an alternative if I do not want to renew?

That depends on whether you code CPT. If you do, you need a licensed tool and EncoderPro or AAPC Codify are the realistic options — we do not have CPT content and cannot pretend otherwise. If your work is diagnosis-led, Medical Coding & Billing Pro is $390 a year for everything, with a 7-day trial that needs no card.
